Former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, has assured suspended Kogi lawmaker, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, of her support over the ongoing sexual harrasment allegation against Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
Ezekwesili reaffirmed her solidarity with Natasha in a post on her X handle on Tuesday.
She assured the lawmaker representing Kogi Central Senatorial District that she is not alone in her agitation for fair hearing and justice.
“Again, dear Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan. You. Will. Never. Walk. Alone.” Ezekwesili wrote.
NPO Reported that the one ex-Minister had yesterday joined Natasha’s representatives who appeared before the Senate Committee on Ethics Privileges, and Public Petitions for the hearing of her sexual harrasment petition.
Ezekwesili would be caught in a fierce argument and exchange of words with Ebonyi lawmaker, Onyekachi Nwaebonyi.
As captured in a now viral video on X, Nwaebonyi slammed the ex-Minister calling her an insult to womanhood.
Hours after the fiasco, Nwaebonyi appeared on Channels TV Politics Today programmes where he claimed that Ezekwesili had addressed him rudely which prompted the reaction.
He alleged that the ex-Minister told him shut his mouth, calling him an hooligan while he was addressing the Committee’s presiding officer.
“I was addressing the presiding officer, she talk to me and said, ‘Will you shut your mouth?’ A sitting senator in the senate that i should shut up my mouth, and I said ‘No Ma, withdraw that statement.’ She said, ‘Will you shut your mouth? You are a hooligan.'” Nwaebonyi said.
