The new Ispector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has hailed his predecessor, Kayode Egbetokun, has hailed the former IGP over his outstanding service and contribution to the development of policing in Nigeria.
Disu maintained that Egbotkun’s legacy will continue to resonate with the force.
The IGP made this known while speaking at Eggetokun’s pull-out on Thursday.
He lauded the ex-IGP’s family for their support.
“On behalf of the officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force, I express our profound appreciation to IGP Olukayode Egbeolu Egbtokun for his outstanding service, exemplary leadership, and his invaluable contribution to the development of policing in Nigeria.
“We also acknowledge the support of his family whose understanding and sacrifice made his year in service possible.” He said.
Disu reiterated that Egbetokun’s legacy willa largely be remembeered,
“As he formally bows out of service today, he does so with honour, dignity, and the admonition of his collegaues and gratitude of the nation he served faithfully.
“While he may be stepping away from the uniform, the legacy of his leadership and the impact of his service will continue to resonate within the Nigeria Police Force for many years to come.” He added.
