Some 53 kidnapped persons including women and children have been released in Zamfara State by notorious bandit leader, Turji Bello.
Turji allegedly released the victims who have been in his custody some of them over a year now amidst military offensive against banditry.
The victims were said to have arrived the state capital Tuesday morning after their release midnight.
This is coming days after the Nigerian Air Force planes bombarded some forests believed to be the holding points of the bandits including that of Turji.
Zamfara state government has said it is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the heat is turned on the criminals in their hideouts until the surrender.
Witnesses say that the arrival of the victims at the capital o Tuesday arose emotions as many broke down in tears.
