Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has visited the Governor of Rivers state Nyesom Wike in his office.
Obi who arrived at the Governors office was taken into an inner chamber where both politicians met behind closed doors.
The purpose of meeting between the duo was unknown as they didn’t speak with journalists.
Obi, who emerged as the candidate of the Labour Party has been confirmed to be having merger talks with the New Nigerian Peoples Party which has as its presidential candidate Senator Musa Rabiu Kwankwaso.
Wike, who lost out in the presidential primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party is believed to be aggrieved.
Already, Wike is believed to be talking to the All Progressive Congress as well.
Analysts believe the meeting in PortHarcourt on Wednesday might not be unconnected with forging a common front ahead of the 2023 presidential election.
