Sen. Sunday Karimi says Kogi residents are solidly behind President Bola Tinubu’s second term bid in the forthcoming 2027 presidential election.
The senator, who represents Kogi West Senatorial District, made the pronouncement at an All Progressives Congress (APC) one day Stakeholders Meeting and Official Endorsement of President Tinubu for a second term, held in Lokoja on Wednesday.
Karimi said the meeting was meant to ensure that all loopholes in the President’s reelection in kogi are completely blocked for a bloc vote in 2027.
“We want Kogi to remain under APC and President Tinubu, and we will do what we can to cajole everyone to support the bid.
“This is because we know that there are many people who are not happy in the state because of how they were treated. We are not pretenders.
“We are not gathered here to quarrel or fight anybody but to look at ways we can woo the aggrieved into our fold to give victory to our President,” he said.
The senator disclosed that there will be a change in Kogi, stressing, “We want that change, which will eventually come.”
According to him, Kogi is in a situation where the truth must be told, particularly about the change that is coming in the state.
He thanked APC stakeholders from the 21 Local Government Areas of the state for painstakingly gracing the meeting he described as crucial to the good and development of Kogi.
Earlier in their remarks, former governor Idris Wada and the Vice chairman of the APC progressive forum, Alhaji Suleiman Aliyu, expressed optimism over APC delivering Kogi for the President in 2027.
Wada said, “Here in Kogi we want inclusiveness for the reelection of Tinubu in 2027, so let’s work as a team.”
Aliyu described the gathering as very encouraging in actualising the purpose of the togetherness for benefit of Kogi and the President.
