A close friend of legendary Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Innocent Idibia (2Baba), has revealed the ordeal of the singer in the hand of his new wife, Natasha Osawaru.
The friend who was simply identified as Carter while speaking on a livestream session with popular media personality, Daddy Freeze. yesterday alleged that 2Baba has been subjected to series of assaults and releagted to a house husband by Natasha.
He also alleged that the Edo lawmaker had been hindering the musical growth of the African Queen crooner by blocking his music collaboration deals.
This is coming hours after a video surfaced online, capturing moment Natasha was shouting at 2Baba at a London Mall.
Speaking on Daddy Freeze’s livestream, the singer’s friend recounted how Natasha blocked a music collaboration between 2Baba and fast-rising Nigerian singer, Tochukwu Ojogwu (Odumodublvck).
“A friend of mine reached out to Odumodu Black’s team and was like ‘please we want you to do a song with Baba.’ Odumodu was in America then, but he said ‘I will come to Nigeria. Anything for the legend, I will do for him.’
“Odumodu came around 11-12 in the night to Baba’s house. He was playing his new song to Baba and said let’s do the session immediately. Tracy Jack was there.
“Tracy Jack and I were meant to produce that song. Odumodu said we will come tomorrow to do the session.
“The next day when we came to the house, Natasha said they are going to Benin. That this music thing is getting into Baba’s head. I’m still trying to understand that statement.
“She said that it is getting into his head. Till today, we never did that song with Odumodu Black.” Carter said.
While alleging that 2Baba is currently under the Edo lawmaker’s influence, Carter also recounted another experience with another Nigerian artist, Oludipe David (Spyro) whose effort to reach out to the veteran singer was frustrated.
“That is how bad it is. When she sees he is rising, she brings him down for that control. He is allegedly under her influence.
“Spyro wanted to release his album. He reached out to us that he needs Baba’s blessing because he did a song with Baba. We now said okay send him a message on Instagram because we can’t give you his number.
“Send him a message, he will see it. He said he has been sending messages, but Baba is not replying.
“We saw that somebody has gone to restrict Spyro. And you know that Baba only looks at his main inbox. So, he was not seeing Spyro.
“When we now found out, we gave Spyro Baba’s number to call him since we found out that he was restricted.” He said.
Carter would then disclose how him alongside other close allies to 2Baba had to finally intervene in the singer’s relationship after they caught Natasha assaulting 2Baba in a room following his return from London Police cell.
During their conversation, 2Baba was alleged to have openly declared being turned into a house husband.
“That day that he came out from the police cell in London that we told you that we got to the room, and she was beating him again, we sat two of them down like okay what is the problem?
“Baba started talking. If he likes he can deny this. He said it in front of me and I heard him. My ears are open. He said he has nothing. He is a house husband. He has nothing. She told him shut up! Shut up!!
“We said she should let him speak and say his mind. She tried to pounce on him again, but we told her to let him say his mind.
“He said ‘I have nothing. I’m a house husband.’
“We said okay and I now called her and said ‘See, I will tell you something for free. I know you look up to me and my wife’s relationship, you see that most times…’
“She told me that she holds Baba’s money that she sees that my wife’s hold my money.
“I said my wife holds my money because I willingly allowed her to. She didn’t force her way into it and my wife is better at managing finances than I am. So, she holds my money for me.” Carter said.
