The Kwara State Police Command has disclosed that three officers who were dismissed in connection with the killing of a Kwara State Polytechnic student, Ilorin, Qoyum Ishola, have been charged to court.
This was contained in a statement by the Kwara Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi on Friday.
Recall that NPO reported that an officer at a checkpoint had fired at a passenger in a tricycle hitting the deceased in the hand.
He was said to have been rushed to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital where he died.
The dismissed officers, Mr Abiodun Kayode, Mr James Emmanuel, and Mr Oni Philip, were charged to court on 16th October, 2024.
According to the statement, they were charged with two counts bordering on criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide in connection with the death of Qoyum Abdulyekeen Ishola.
“They have been remanded in prison custody pending further court proceedings.” The statement read.
