The Vice Chancellor of the Kwara State University, Mohammed Akanbi, has died.
Akanbi, according to information available to the NPO Reports, died in Lagos on Sunday.
Akanbi, who became the vice chancellor in 2020, was said to be on his way from Saudi Arabia, where he had gone to perform lesser hajj.
After arriving in Lagos, he was said to have taken ill necessitating taking some rest at a Lagos hospital.
He later passed on Sunday evening.

Akanbi, who was son of former Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Commission, Justice Mustapha Akanbi, was a lecturer at the University of Ilorin where he taught Law for almost 20 years before his appointment as the Vice Chancellor of the state owned institution.
NPO Reports gathered that Akanbi’s remains will arrive in Ilorin, the state capital and be promptly buried according to Islamic rights at 4pm.
The university, as at the time of filing this report, was yet to make an official statement.
