President Bola Tinubu has appointed Jami’u Abiola as the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Linguistics and Foreign Matters.
This was contained in a statement by the Secretary to the Government of the the Federation, George Akume, on Wednesday.
His appointment is set to take effect from 14th of November, 2024.
According to the statement, Jamiu’s appointment is in line with the provisions of the Certain Political and Judicial Office Holders (Salaries and Allowances, etc) Act 2008, as amended.
NPO reports that Jamiu is one of the children of the late Chief Moshood Abiola, winner of the 1993 presidential election annulled by General Ibrahim Babangida
Prior to his appointment, he was formerly the Special Assistant to the President on Special Duties in the Office of the Vice-President.
Tinubu urged the him to collaborate closely with the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs and apply his extensive experience to his new responsibilities.
