Chelsea Football Club has again established its dominance as London powerhouse as it edged past Tottenham Hotspur in dramatic 4-3 thriller on Sunday.
Coming off a 5-1 away trashing of Southampton during the week, the Blues travelled to North London to face Tottenham for another Premier League weekend showdown and London derby.
However, Chelsea were kept at the edge of their seat five minutes into game after a defensive blunder from Cucurella saw former Chelsea striker, Dominik Sholanke, putting the host into the lead.
Tottenham would double their lead in the 11 minute as Dejan Kulusevki fired past Rob Sanchez.
Five minutes after, Cucurella redeemed himself as the Spanish defender created a goal scoring opportunity for Jadon Sancho who reduced the deficit to 2-1.
The Enzo Marecsa-led side regained their momentum after Moise Caicedo fot toppled in the penalty area.
Cole Palmer stepped in to convert the penalty kick, send Tottenham’s goalkeeper the wrong way.
A 73rd minute stunner from Chelsea’s captain, Enzo Fernandez, eventually put the Blues into the lead.
Another foul in the Tottenham’s penalty spot saw the referee pointed at the spot.
Again, Cole Palmer comfortably converted the penalty to double Chelsea’s lead by 4-2.
Tottenham would, however, managed to pull one back courtesy Heung-min Son late strike in the 96th minute.
Meanwhile, Chelsea’s win saw them Sir second on the Premier League table. With 31 points across 15 games.
The Blues are currently two Points ahead of third place, Arsenal,.who drew Fulham earlier today.
