An Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, on Friday ordered the remand of four men for alleged armed robbery.
The defendants are Hammed Ogunmakin, 23; Goodness Azukuo, 30; Benjamin Odue, 29; and Itaekong Ubong, 32.
Their addresses were not provided but they are charged with conspiracy and armed robbery.
The Magistrate, Mrs Kausarat Ayofe, did not take their pleas for want of jurisdiction.
She directed the police to return the case file to Oyo State director of public prosecutions for advice.
She ordered that the defendants should be kept at a custodial centre, and adjourned the case until March 10 for mention.
The prosecutor, Insp David Adepoju, had told the court that the defendants committed the offences on Oct. 22, 2024, about 8.45 p.m. at Iyaganku in Ibadan.
Adepoju said that the defendants, while armed with guns and other dangerous weapons, attacked one Mr Gabriel Odeh and dispossessed him of his motorcycle worth N370,000.
He said that the offences contravened Sections 6(b) and 1(2) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provisions) Act, 2004. NAN
