A 17-year-old boy, Thompson Omokafe, kidnapped by his former classmate and friend has been killed with his body dumped in a canal in Lagos.
The late teenager was reported to have been lured to the apartment of the suspects identified as Elijah Emmanuel (23) and Tony Ogenata (21).
Following his arrival, Omokafe was kidnapped with his abductors demanding N150 million ransom for his release.
Attached to the text message sent to the family for the ransom was a picture of Omokafe who had stripped naked with a piece of clothe tied on his mouth.
Another text message showed the kidnappers threatening to kill the boy if the family fails to play by their rules.

However, the family could only manage to raise N200,000 out of the demanded N150 million.
Unfortunately, Omokafe was strangled to death with his body dumped in a canal at Awoyaya in Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos.
While the suspects had since been arrested in Ikorodu where they were found by the police, a member of the late teenager’s family said their son’s traumatic death and the trauma it had on his relatives is one no other family should endure.
The famliy member urged parents to be wary of thier children’s movement to avoid suffering smiliar fate.
Meanwhile, Omotafe’s murder and arrest of the suspects are yet to be confirmed by the Lagos Police Command.
NPO Reports contacted the command’s spokeperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, to confirm the development.
The Police Public Relations Officer is yet to respond to the text message sent by our correspondent as at the time of filing this report.
