Trouble is brewing in Eruwa, the headquarters of Ibarapa East Local Government of Oyo State as Governor Seyi Makinde has reportedly concluded plans to bring back a deposed Eleruwa of Eruwa, Samuel Adegbola, against the wishes of the people and other contestants for the throne.
Adegbola was sacked from the palace by the Supreme Court six years ago after ruling the town for 21 years.
NPO Reports gathered that Adegbola was picked after a voting session at the palace on Thursday in Eruwa and the results were taken to the Governor in Ibadan.
Already, NPO Reports that different interests groups in the ancient town are gathering to oppose the return of Adegbola.
An indigene of the town, Hon, Sola Abegunde, while speaking on a live radio programme on Success FM Saturday morning said the choice of Adegbola amounted to an abuse of power by the Governor.
Abegunde reminded Governor Makinde that the manner of the choice of Adegbola stood logic in its head. He said Makinde should remember that his power as the governor would end in 2027.
Spokesman to the Oyo State Governor, Lanre Sulaiman was yet to respond to the inquiry by the NPO Reports on why the government wants Adegbola back as Eleruwa after being deposed.
