Former Governor of Ekiti State John Kayode Fayemi, on Thursday said the President Bola Tinubu means well for Nigeria.
However he was quick to add that meaning well for the people is not enough in delivering good leadership.
Fayemi was speaking on Channels Television after the unveiling of his new leadership centre in Abuja,
The unveiling of the Amandlia Institute for Policy and Leadership Advancement was witnessed by major opposition leader, Atiku Abubakar, former interim National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress Bisi Akande, the leadership of the party and other eminent Nigerians.
NPO Reports that Fayemi, a close ally of Tinubu had contested the APC presidential primary with Tinubu.
He however stepped down for Tinubu at the venue of the primary election.
Many believed that the relationship between the two have not been too cordial.
Fayemi, while featuring on the live interview on Politics Today, said Tinubu is his elder brother.
He said the Tinubu administration must have a policy framework that goes along with leadership acumen.
He added that this is the only way to get Nigerians the desired change.
“Those in power know the truth but do not act the truth because sometimes there are many mediating factors,” Fayemi was quoted as saying during the live program
“He (Tinubu) is well-meaning but well-meaning is not enough in leadership; intentionality is critical to success.
He said, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has done many good things, we all must acknowledge that. He’s been bold to take on some of the most difficult decisions that previous leaders have been reluctant to take on.
“The fallout of those decisions has caused us huge cost of living crisis. Fuel subsidy removal, convergence of FX window.
“Whether you talk about student loan or other efforts at resisting insurgency, taming insecurity, tax policy reform, increase revenue into the federal coffers, some elements are there but need to come together.
“This is where effective policy framework go side by side with leadership acumen to get a change of narrative to the story. Maybe that’s the area where we need to do lots more,” he added
NPO Reports also that Fayemi had earlier been seen together with Atiku last week at a programme in Abuja.

Their appearance had set tongues wagging over possible emerging political relationships.
Atiku has left no one in doubt about his intention to contest again in 2027. He has been a persistent critic of the policies of the Tinubu government.
