The All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate for the 2025 Anambra State Governorship election, Valentine Ozigbo, has allayed concerns over death Threat prophecy made by popular clergyman and Zion Ministry’s General Overseer, Evangelist Ebuka Obi.
The clergyman had in a recent online ministration warned Ozigbo against plot to kidnap which may lead to death ahead of the forthcoming election.
This is coming under the heels of the murder of Anambra lawmaker, Justice Azuka, whose remains was found along the 2nd Niger bridge a month after his abduction.
As seen in a clip of the video shared by the Anambra politician on his X handle on Saturday, Evang. Obi had prophesied about evil plot against the former Labour party’s flag bearer.
There is a map that has been drawn to kidnap somebody called Vals. And this person called Vals in Anambra State, be very careful. You want to contest for something. Be careful about kidnapping and killing.
“They want to set you up. May the Lord show you mercy that the plans of the enemy shall not stand. That it shall not come to pass.” Evang. Obi had said.
Reacting, Ozigbo expressed his gratitude to the clergyman for his concern.
He, however, maintained that he unafraid, on his mission to rescue Anambra state.
Making references to some bible scriptures, the governorship candidate expressed confidence on his ambition ahead of the election.
“My attention has been drawn to the words of Evangelist Ebuka Obi of the Zion Prayer Movement Outreach (ZPMO) concerning a plot against my life.
“First and foremost, I give thanks to God Almighty—the author and finisher of our faith, the lifter up of my head (Psalm 3:3), and the one who orders the steps of the righteous (Psalm 37:23). I am also grateful for the gift of spiritual leaders who see beyond the physical and offer guidance to the faithful.
“To Evangelist Ebuka Obi, I extend my heartfelt gratitude. Thank you for your courage in speaking about what has been revealed to you.
“To everyone who has reached out with prayers and concern over the words of the Prophet, I feel your love, and I am strengthened by it. Your support reaffirms the power of faith, the power of unity, and the power of purpose.
“I AM NOT AFRAID
“Let me be clear: I am not afraid. Our mission is divinely directed, and God is my shield (Psalm 91:4).
“This is not about me; it is about Anambra’s destiny—about a people who refuse to be silenced, about a generation rising against the status quo, and about restoring dignity, security, and prosperity to our land.
“The need to rescue Anambra from its current decadent path is much bigger than any one individual.
“I am not afraid because “God has not given us the spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind”. (2 Timothy 1:7)
“If there are those who believe that threats or violence will stop this Movement for the emancipation of Ndi Anambra, they misunderstand the power of faith and conviction.
“Our mission is divinely ordered and being led by the Spirit, we fear not because we are the sons and daughters of God. (Romans 8:14).
“For it is written —_”The steps of a righteous man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way. Though he falls, he will not be utterly cast down, for the Lord upholds him with His hand.”_ (Psalm 37:23-24)
“This campaign is covered by the blood of Jesus. (Revelations 12:11) This campaign stands for light, not darkness. (John 1:5). It is anchored in God, not man. (1 Corinthians 3:19-20) And so, “No weapon formed against us shall prosper” (Isaiah 54:17).” He wrote.
Ozigbo continued that he is not fighting for his personal gain but for the cause of Anambra residents who have been faced with insecurity, economic hardship, and killings amongst others.
To those allegedly plotting his kidnap, Ozigbo held that the election is not wars of guns but wars of ideas.
He urged them to step into the light rather than resorting to fear.
“We all see what is happening in Anambra. Insecurity has gripped our land. Families live in fear. Businesses struggle under the weight of violence and extortion.
“Ndi Anambra are fed up with the killings and the cloud of insecurity in our land. People feel betrayed that our government remained insensitive to these killings and waited 3 years till the election year in 2025 before they saw a need to start a security outfit.
“Let me ask: If our government had truly cared, why did it take three years for them to start addressing security? Why did they wait until the election season had kicked in to finally act? Everyone sees the lapses in the makeshift security arrangements where innocent people have become hapless victims of a poorly thought-out solution.
“Our campaign is born out of a burning desire deep-rooted in the general dissatisfaction with the current trajectory of the Anambra state.
“This campaign is not just my personal mission; it is our collective struggle. It is the collective voice of a people who demand change. It is the voice of Ndi Anambra saying, ‘Enough is Enough. ’ I am simply a vessel in the hands of the Almighty to actualise the aspirations of our people.
“To those who plot evil, I have a message for you:
“This is not a war of guns or violence. It is a war of ideas. This is a war of light against darkness, of truth against deception, of hope against fear. Rather than resorting to fear and intimidation, you can decide to step into the light. You do not have to fight the future—you can be part of it. Join us. A better and brighter Anambra is in your interest, too—for you, your children, your community, and our collective destiny.” He added.
