The management of the Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Imo state, has suspended lecturer captured in a viral video assaulting student for not following instruction.
NPO earlier reported that the lecturer, identified in the suspension letter as Okoroafor Ifeanyichukwu, had angrily charged at the unidentified male student, and slapped him.
Ifeanyichukwu would proceed to knock the student off his feet before storming out to the shock of other students.
The incident, which occured at the institution’s Technical and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (TEDC) yesterday, had sparked public outrage as netizens condemned the lecturer’s action, demanding for his suspension.
In swift reaction, the TEDC’s Director, Engr. Okoye P.C, in a letter issued on Friday, declared the immediate suspension of the lecturer pending the conclusion of investigation.
According to the letter, Ifeanyichukwu is a facilitator at the centre.
“You are hereby suspended from duty as a facilitator in the Technical and Entrepreneurship Development Centre pending the outcome Of investigation into the that occurred yesterday, 13th of March, 2025 at the site of your entrepreneurship training.” The letter read.
