Former Ondo State lawmaker, Sen. Jimoh Ibrahim, has assumed his new role as Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations following submission of his letter of credence to the UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres.
Ibrahim the made this known in a post shared on his X handle on Tuesday.
The former lawmaker, who represented Ondo South Senatorial District until his appointment by President Bola Tinubu, presented his letter to the Guterres at the UN headquarters in New York, United States.

Video attached to the post showed the UN Secretary-General formally receiving and accrediting Ibrahim as Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the global body.
The ex-lawmaker described the development as a mark of renewed voice and presence of Nigeria in global diplomacy.
“I had the honour of presenting my Letter of Credence to the Secretary-General of the United Nations in New York, USA, officially assuming my role as Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations.
“This marks Nigeria’s renewed voice, commitment, and presence in global diplomacy.” Ibrahim wrote.
