Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, has secured the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) ticket for a second term bid ahead of the November 2025 Governorship Election.
Soludo’s first term, which began on the 9th of November 2021, will end by 9th of November 2025.
NPO Reported that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had late last year released the calendar for another election in the state which will hold on 8th of November.
Confirming his victory at the primary in a statement issued on his official X handle on Sunday, Soludo expressed his gratitude to APGA delegates.
Soludo commended the peaceful conduct of the primary election while lauding INEC for their diligent monitoring of the process.
While reiterating his commitment to a prosperous and liveable state, Soludo requested the party’s approval to renominate Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim as my Deputy.
The statement read in part; “I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the 3,172 delegates of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) who voted for me to contest for a second term in office in the upcoming governorship election on 8 November 2025. Your trust and support mean the world to me.
“I commend the peaceful and orderly conduct of our primary election, a true testament to APGA’s commitment to democratic principles.
“I also acknowledge the officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), led by the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), for their diligent monitoring of the process.
“To the good people of Anambra, I am deeply grateful for your unwavering support for APGA.
“As I have always said, APGA is Anambra, and Anambra is APGA. We will continue to work tirelessly to make our state a prosperous and liveable homeland.
“As we move forward, I humbly request the party’s approval to renominate Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim as my Deputy. Together, we will build on the progress we have made and take Anambra to even greater heights.
“Thank you, Ndi Anambra, and thank you, APGA family. I will not disappoint you.” Soludo wrote.
