* Calls for VDM’s Intervention
A middled-aged man, Umoro Matthew, has accused Ekpan Police Division, Delta state, of converting his stolen Volkswagen Jetta car into an operational vehicle.
Umoro had, in a viral video shared on X on Wednesday, called for the intervention of popular social media influencer, Martin Vincent Otse (VeryDarkMan), as he recounted how his missing car was found at the station two years after filing report over the car at the same station.
The Warri-based man recalled how the car was stolen when he took it to a church programme along Jakpa road in 2015.
“I went for a programme for church for Jakpa road on the 13th of November, 2015. As we closed from the programme when I came out, I couldn’t see my motor again.
“I went to Ekpan Police state to report. They told me to go and print paper of stolen vehicle and bring to them.
“I even distributed it all over the place for them. Then after two years, in 2017, I discovered the motor with the same Police station. They converted this my vehicle to their own use. They wrote Jakpa raiders on it.” He said.
Umoro further disclosed that he took the case to a High court where the Police were ordered to pay him N10 million as compensation.
He claimed the Police filed an appeal over the High Court’s verdict…
“Somebody advised me to take the matter to Court, when we got there, on the 19th day of July 2018, the High Court fined men 10million.
“They said they’ll pay, later they appealed against the judgement.
“I don’t have any helper, that’s why they can oppress me. So please help me.
“That was the car I was using to survive. Since I lost the car, things became tough.” He pleaded.
