A civil servant, identified as Theophilus Amadi, has reportedly brutalized his wife for participating in a rally organized by Pro- Wike women in Port-Harcourt in support of the emergency rule in the state.
This was disclosed in a post shared on X on Tuesday.
According to the post, Amadia, a native of Agba-Ndele community in Emohua Local Government Area, allegedly assaulted his wife, inflicting a head injury on her.
The unidentified woman was alleged to have received 2,000 Naira to participate in the rally organized by Pro-Wike women in Port Harcourt.
The assault by her husband reportedly stemmed from the man’s dissatisfaction with the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike.
Amadi accused the former Rivers state governor of not employing or promoting civil servants during his 8yrs tenure.
His anger was further provoked when he recalled how the last 100,000 Naira Christmas bonus, provided by the suspended Rivers governor, Siminialayi Fubara, was used to settle their rent.
