The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Working Committee (NWC) has welcomed Akwa-Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, following his defection to the party from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
NPO Reported that the governor had on Friday dumped the PDP to finally join APC weeks after publicly announcing his plan to defect.
He officially received to the party by the APC Governors Forum who visited him at Uyo, the state capital.
Reacting to the development, the APC National Working Committee in a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, expressed their delight in having the Akwa-Ibom in the ruling party.
The NWC lauded his decision while assuring him of the party’s full cooperation.
The statement read; “The National Working Committee of All Progressives Congress (APC) under the leadership of His Excellency, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, CON, is delighted at the news of the Governor of Akwa Ibom state, His Excellency, Umo Eno’s decision to join our great Party.
“We are confident that his thoughtful decision, will inure to the greater progress of Akwa Ibom state and people.
“Our great Party assures the Governor of its fullest cooperation and accommodation in the APC family, as we continue to grow the Party and work together towards the full realization of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for the good and benefit of all Nigerians.”
