Leaders of the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) South-South has adopted President Bola Tinubu as its sole candidate for the 2027.
As disclosed in a post shared on the APC’s official X handle on Sunday, the leaders made the unanimous decision during its stakeholders’ meeting held in Benin city, Edo State capital, yesterday.
The South-South stakeholders also adopted the APC governors in the zone as the party’s sole candidate at their respective states ahead of the general election.

While hailing the assent of the South-South Development Commission Act and the ongoing Lagos-Calabar Coastal road, a vote of confidence was also passed on Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, and members of the Zonal Working Committee for their commitment to the party.
Also commended for his support to President Bola Tinubu was the stakeholders was the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike.
The post read; “The APC South-South stakeholders’ meeting, held in Benin City on Saturday, unanimously adopted the President, APC Governors from the zone as sole candidates in 2027.
“They hailed among others assent of the South-South Development Commission Act, ongoing Lagos-Calabar Coastal road.

“The stakeholders passed a vote of confidence in the leadership of Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, and members of the Zonal Working Committee for their commitment to the Party.
“The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, was commended for his support for President Tinubu’s administration.”
Meanwhile, present at the event were the South-South APC governors including Akwa-Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, who recently defected to the party from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Also present were members of the National Assembly, including former Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole.
The Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, was also in attendance alongside form Edo State Deputy Governor, Phillip Shuaibu.
