At least seven persons have sustained varying degrees of injuries as two trucks collided at Arinkinkin in Agric area in Ogbomosho, Oyo State.
This was confirmed in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Oyo Fire Service Chairman, Morouf Akinwande.
According to Akinwande, the incident occurred around 1:15 p.m on Monday with the state fire service personnel led by CFM Oladejo Kola responded swiftly to the incident.
One of the trucks loaded with unidentified chemicals reportedly burst into flames after the collision.
“The agency’s officers swiftly swung into action and curtailed the fire from spreading to the truck loaded with grains,” Akinwande said.
The Fire Service boss said the seven injured persons were rescued and taken to Bowen Teaching Hospital by Federal Road Safety Corps officials in Ogbomoso Division for medical attention.
He said that normal vehicular movement had been restored to the area.
