A 58-year-old man, Gbenga Adejuwon, has on Friday been arraigned before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court Ibadan, for allegedly stealing insulators belonging to Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBDEC).
Adejuwon, whose address was not provided, was charged with conspiracy and stealing, to which he pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, ASP Musbau Lawal told the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offence on September 10, about 12.30 a.m in Agbarigo Junction, Ibadan.
He alleged that the defendant and others at large stole three big post insulators and four small post insulators worth N500,000.
He said the offence contravened Sections 516 and 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mr Olaolu Olanipekun granted the defendant bail in the sum of N300,000 with one surety in like sum.
He held that the surety must be a blood relation to the defendant and adjourned the case until Dec.4, for hearing.
