Nollywood Actress, Laide Bakare, has denied introducing her 17-year-old daughter, Similoluwa, to alcohol during her Sweet 16 birthday celebration.
NPO earlier Reported that the actress had in a recent interview admitted being the first person to take Similoluwa to a night club where her birthday was held.
Bakare, while recalling the birthday party, claimed that it was held as desired by the teenager.
“It was crazy. She will be going back to Uni and she was like she has never done anything the way she wants it to be. You know these kids when they get to a certain age, they want to do things in a certain way.
“You that age they are being newly introduced to life and things they don’t know. In fact, I’m the first person to bring her to a club.
“That was her very first club experience she ever had. I’m very glad in her memo she said my very first alcoholic drink, clubbing was from my Mom.
“That was the first time she will be in a club setting. She has never. She graduated early.” Bakare had said.
However, the actress, in a statement issued on her official Instagram handle on Saturday, denied the claim.
She held that she never mentioned introducing her daughter to alcohol, stressing that she had only given her a first night club experience with the birthday.
“Let me mention clearly here that I never said I introduced my daughter, @simlineboss to Alcohol, I only stated that she entered club with me for the very first in her life at her birthday After party. How is that bad naw?” Bakare wrote.
