The Department of States Security (DSS) Director-General, Tosin Ajayi, has met with President Bola Tinubu over the spate of insecurity in the country.
This was disclosed in a post shared on X on Saturday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
According to the post, Ajayi visited the Presidential villa on Friday night.
The DSS boss in a closed-door meeting reportedly briefed Tinubu on the security situation across the country.
“The Director General of the Department of State Services, DSS, Mr TOSIN Adeola Ajayi briefing President Bola Tinubu on the security situation on Friday night.” Onanuga wrote.
The DSS DG’s meeting with the President is coming under the heels of the resurgence in bandits’ attacks and abductions especially in Niger and Kebbi states where two schools were attacked with several students and teachers abducted.
At least 25 schoolgirls were on Monday abducted in an early morning attack on Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School in Maga town, Kebbi state.
The students were abducted from the hostels by the armed men who killed the school security personnel and Vice Principal during the raid.
Another attack would be reported at St. Peter’s Academy in Niger State where over 10 pupils and their teachers were abducted by gunmen who raided the Catholic school in the early hours of Friday.
