A former Secretary to the State Government in Osun, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti, has dumped the camp of former Governor Rauf Aregbesola in the state.
Adeoti, in a letter withdrawing his membership of the Omoluabi Progressive, a block that formed the African Democratic Congress in Osun, said he was exiting the group which he co-founded.
The ex-SSG had in the letter announced his complete withdrawal from all the group’s activities, citing family reasons for his withdrawal.
He expressed his gratitude to the group for their trust in him as he wished the current leadership of the Omoulabi Progressives success.
The letter read; “I, Alhaji Moshood Olalekan Adeoti, the Deputy Leader of Omoluabi Progressives in Osun State, hereby tender this letter of withdrawal from the group, which I co-founded with other Progressive-minded individuals across the state.
“This also includes my complete withdrawal from all the group activities henceforth.
“My decision to withdraw was never an easy one, especially each time I looked back and consider all my investments into ensuring the survival of the group throughout its turbulent period from its inception till date.
“Coupled with this has been the pressure from my family members, both immediate and extended, on the need to take an immediate short rest from all political activities.
“I want to specially thank everyone of my fellow Progressives for the level of trust reposed in me while in the group and wishing the current leadership success in all the group’s future endeavors.”
Meanwhile, it is believed that Adeoti’s decision was out of the belief that the ADC in Osun had concluded plans to cede the Governorship ticket to a former Speaker of the House of Assembly in the state, Najeem Salam.
Omoluabi Progressives is the block of All Progressive Congress members who followed Aregbesola to the ADC.
The group had operated within the APC allegedly in the hopes that the crisis within the APC would be resolved to accommodate all aggrieved members.
