The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has debunked alleged release of an approved list containing candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates for the 2027 Federal House of Representatives election.
This is coming under heels of a document circulating on social media with claims that it was released by INEC.
Reacting in a statement issued on its official X handle on Monday, INEC declared the document fake, stressing that it does not originate from any of its platform.
The commission noted that it has published any such notice, adding that the signature on the purported list of APC candidates does not belong to its secretary.
“The attention of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been drawn to a document circulating on social media purporting to be an official INEC Public Notice containing the names of candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Federal House of Representatives elections in Lagos State for the 2027 General Election.
“The Commission wishes to categorically state that the document is FAKE, misleading and did not emanate from INEC. For the avoidance of doubt:
“The Commission has not authorised or published any such notice.
“The purported publication does not originate from any official INEC platform or process.
“The signature appearing on the document does not belong to the Secretary to the Commission and is therefore fraudulent.” INEC wrote.

The commission urged members of the public to disregard the document.
“Members of the public, political parties, stakeholders and the media are advised to disregard the document in its entirety and rely only on information published through INEC’s official communication channels.
