A 300-level Computer Engineering student of the Ahmadu Bello University has invented a smart walking stick for visually impaired people.
Inserted in the walking stick is a sensor wh8ch alerts its user of obstacles along the path.
Demonstrating how his invention works in a viral video circulating online, the student, whose name could not be confirmed as at the time of filing this report, placed the walking aid in front of one of his viewers.
Sensing the person, the walking stick gave multiple beeping sound.
It also has the ability to sense waterlogged and slippery paths as also demonstrated by the inventor.
The walking aid is designed with different sound pitches to alert its user of differentjng obstacles ahead of him.
