The return of Nigerian Afrobeat singer, Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, to his alma matter, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), has attracted mixed reactions from netizens over his pilot’s assault on a student who posed for pictures with the singer’s helicopter.
Asake had on Monday arrived in Osun state for his homecoming visit to OAU.
After paying homage to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, at his palace, the Omo Ope crooner landed at OAU campus to the excited of hundreds of students who trooped out to welcome him.
While the singer had enjoyed a warm reception at the campus, video of his pilot’s assault on one of the students had however sent tongue waggling.
The video shared on Facebook captured moment the pilots approached the student posing with the aircraft.
On spotting the pilots, the students jokingly knelt and bowed to the two-man crew.
This however failed to amuse one of the pilots who shoved and kicked him away from the aircraft to the shock of other onlooking students.
The incident had sparked mixed reactions from netizens with some condemning the action of the pilot while others faulted the student.
Some however claimed the video was generated by Artificial Intelligence (AI).
“Did you bother to consider the risk, way if the propeller starts without the pilot knowing, reason from the perspective of the pilot first to understand his reaction”@Ojuse Omotayo Richmond
“Driving a car is not same as parking a car. This is just a parked chopper and the guy is not holding any dangerous stuff to suggest possible vandalization.“@Aare Vincent Olusola Arogbodo
“Am I the only one seeing this video as AI generated?”@Oyedokun Olaolu Fikayomi
“I honestly don’t think that pilot is okay. Someone with that explosive anger shouldn’t even be trusted with a paper plane, let alone a jet. And the fact that it happened in Great Ife, with no one challenging that nonsense, makes it even worse.”@Ade Adebowale
“This is assault. The pilot would be convicted if it was a developed country.”@Ifeoluwa Olaoye
“This Video is AI……..”@Prince Igbokah Adraino
“I wish this matter is taken up, GANI. This is unacceptable. The guy was only having his fun around the chopper like what we have known OAU students for and that doesn’t pose any threat to anyone. The Pilot should be dealt with.”@Biodun Laoye MC Spirit
“And they allowed the pilot to go unpunished? What a time not to be on campus! Painful.”@Oluwalade Babatunde
“I swear. The student himself suppose to stand against this oppression. It’s painful that this spirit has left the students.”@Oluwabusayo Ibikunle
