President Bola Tinubu has on Sunday departed Lagos for Europe in continuation his end-of-year break and also ahead of his official trip to Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates.
NPO Reported that the President had last week arrived in Lagos as part of his three-state visit and for the celebration of Christmas.
The President, while in Lagos, hosted several dignitaries who paid him homage at his Bourdillon residence.
He also attended the 2025 Eyo festival held on Saturday at the Tafawa Balewa Square.
Hours after the conclusion of the event, Tinubu would depart Lagos today as announced in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
According to Onanuga, the President is set to attend the 2026 edition of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW 2026) Summit, which will take place in the emirate early in January.
He was invited to the event by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed AlNahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates.
The weeklong summit is an annual event that mobilises leaders from government, business, and society to chart the next era of sustainable development.
With the theme “The Nexus of Next: All Systems Go”, the ADSW Summit is tipped to connect ambition with action across innovation, finance, and people, showcasing how the world can move forward with confidence.’
The President is however billed to return to the country immediately after the Summit.
