The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of the driver of the crashed vehicle conveying Nigerian-born British boxer, Anthony Joshua.
NPO Reported that the former World Heavyweight Champion had escaped death by whisker in the fatal road crash which occurred on Monday along Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
While Joshua had survived the crash with minor injuries, he however lost his coach and personal trainer who died in the accident.
With the boxer discharged today, the Ogun Police Command’s spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, disclosed that the driver behind the fatal crash had been arrested and detained.
Babaseyi made the disclosure in a post shared on his X handle on Thursday.
He said investigation is still ongoing to unravel the circumstances that led to the crash.
“The driver of the Lexus SUV is currently in custody in connection with the Anthony Joshua accident case. Investigations are ongoing.” Babaseyi wrote.
