The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has welcomed Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, to the party.
NPO Reported that Mutfwang had earlier joined the APC following his exit from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The governor was on Friday issued the membership card of the ruling party in Jos, Plateau state capital.
Reacting to the development in a statement issued on his official X handle on behalf of the APC National Working Committee (NWC), Yilwatda welcomed Mutfwang, describing his move to the party as a bold and patriotic step.
The APC National Chairman held that Mutfwang’s defection is astatement of hope and a commitment to a shared vision of inclusive development.
“On behalf of the National Working Committee and the entire family of the All Progressives Congress, I warmly welcome His Excellency, Governor Caleb Mutfwang, into our great party, the APC.
“Your decision to join the progressive family is a bold and patriotic step, driven by a higher calling to serve the people of Plateau State and Nigeria.
“Today’s registration is a statement of hope and a commitment to a shared vision of inclusive development, peace, and prosperity for Plateau State.” He said.
Yilwatda assured Mutfwang of his readiness to work with him for the interest of the state ad the party.
“We receive you with open arms and a deep sense of partnership, and I assure you of our collective resolve to work closely with you, hand in hand to advance the interests of Plateau State, strengthen our party, and deliver meaningful dividends of democracy to our people.
“Welcome home to the APC, Senior Caleb Mutfwang.” He added.
Recall that Mutfwang had defeated Yilwatda to emerge Plateau state Governor at the 2023 Gubernatorial election.
