As ICPC Uncovers New Fake Agency
- Safiu Kehinde
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered the suspension of three Permanent Secretaries and immediate arrest of an impostor as the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) discovered a new fake agency.
In a latest development on the ongoing investigation into alleged fake government agencies and procedural weaknesses in Nigeria’s public service, the ICPC reportedly discovered the existence of another fake agency identified as the National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office.
The discovery followed the controversy surrounding the purported Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC).
Meanwhile, the ICPC discovered that new fake agency was operating inside the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) without presidential authorisation.
The commission’s Chairman, Musa Adamu Aliyu identified one Prince George Buchi Nwabueze as the alleged promoter of the agency.
Musa reportedly disclosed that Tinubu had in reaction ordered Nwabueze’s immediate arrest and suspended three Permanent Secretaries identified as M.S. Danjuma, Nadungu Gagare and Richard P. Pheelangwah.
He also ordered a forensic audit of government processes.
