Former Anambra state governor and 2023 Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has affirmed his interest in securing the 2027 Presidential ticket of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Obi allayed concern surrounding his chances of emerging the flag bearer of the party amid fierce competition from the likes of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
He made this known while addressing the auto spare parts dealers in Zuba, Gwagwalada Local Government Area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), in a campaign for the ADC’s Chairmanship candidate for the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Moses Paul.
The ex-Anambra governor charged the traders not to lose hope as he expressed readiness to vie for the ADC presidential ticket.
“We must change Nigeria. Let nobody make you lose hope. I’m not scared of anybody and I’m in this election. We must have a better Nigeria for our children.” Obi said.
Recall that Obi had late last year formally defected to the ADC after withdrawing his membership from the Labour Party.
The presidential hopeful joined the likes of Atiku, former Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai, and his Rivers State counterpart, Rotimi Amaechi, amongst others at the new coalition party.
