Slam Sowore, Other Critics
- Safiu Kehinde
A group of Pro-Wike supporters has rallied behind the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyseom Wike, as they reaffirmed their support for his administration in the capital city of Abuja.
The supporters, in what could be described as a counter-protest against the FCT workers’ protest earlier this week, took to the street with placards and banners declaring their solidarity with the Minister.
While urging Wike not to be distracted with his work, a clergyman who spoke on behalf of the protesters slammed the Minister’s critics, particularly human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore.
The clergyman lashed Sowore for allegedly calling Wike a brainless man.
“People like Sowore that are calling the Minister a brainless man, it won’t be well with you. If you have eyes, you can see that Wike has done great work in Abuja. We pray that the Honourable President will continue to sustain Wike for the next eight years.
“Abuja will become like United States. We pray for long life. We pray for sound health. We pray for protection and may God thunder and scatter every enemy of progress, every enemy of the Minister in name of Jesus.
“If Sowore can see what Wike has done in Abuja, he will give him support. We are here not because we are bribed or we are being paid. We are here on our own personal will to give our support to the Honourable Minister.
“We are saying to him, he should never be distracted. Once you are doing a good job, there will be distractions.
“But he should be focused and continue with the good work he is doing. And may God continue to expose and disgrace the enemies of Wike.” He said.
The clergyman whose name was not given in the clip shared on X called on Nigerians and residents of the FCT to support the Wike-led FCTA administration for the completion of his ongoing projects across the capital city.
“We are calling on well-meaning Nigerians. We are calling on well-meaning citizens of FCT, let’s give Wike support.
“Let him finish what he has started. The other previous Ministers what have they shown? Within couple of months and years, it is very glaring that the project of Barrister Nyesom Wike is very visible to even the blind.” He added.
