Nine out of the 28 suspects arrested in connection to the massacre in Yelewata town, Benue State, have arrived at the Federal High Court, Abuja, for the hearing of the case filed against them by the Federal Government.
NPO Reported that the FG had yesterday announced that the suspects would be arraigned before the court on Monday following the conclusion of investigation.

The suspects arrived at the court’s premises on Monday afternoon with pictures made available to NPO Reports showing them being ushered into the court.
They are arraigned on a 57-count charge of terrorism, for planning out the attacks in Yelewata which led to the burning of properties and the alleged killing of over 200 persons.

Recall that the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, had in June 2025 announced the arrest of 28 suspects in connection to Yelewata attack by suspected armed herdsmen.
The attack led to the death of over 200 residents with several others injured.

It had sparked public outrage and demand for justice.
Sequel to the tragic incident, President Bola Tinubu paid a condolence visit to the victims of attack.
He ordered for the arrest if the perpetrators while addressing Benue stakeholders and security chiefs at the state government house in Makurdi.
