An African Democratic Congress (ADC) party agent has decried the absence of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials at his polling unit.
The ADC agent, who identified himself as Phillip Danladi, claimed to have arrived at the undisclosed polling unit before 8am but still awaiting the arrival of INEC officials and election materials at 10am for the commencement of the 2026 Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Council Election at the polling unit.
“I’ve been here before 8 o’clock expecting to see the election materials. But as we speak right now, this is almost 10 o’clock. There is no sign of INEC officials. No electoral materials.” Danladi said in a video shared on X on Saturday.
The party agent disclosed that the INEC officials are reportedly delayed in Garki Primary School where they are still waiting for bus to convey them to their respective polling units.
“According to the information I heard, they are still at Garki Primary School that they have sorted out everything as at yesterday, but the vehicle to convey them to their various polling units is what they are still waiting for.” He added.
NPO Reported that INEC had scheduled the commencement of voting exercise from 8:30am to 2:30pm.
However, late arrivals of some of theĀ officials at their polling units had largely marred the arrangement.
