Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, has on Thursday paid an unscheduled visit to the state secretariat.
Soludo arrived at the secretariat in the early hours of the day, catching many staff by surprise.
The governor’s visit tends to have been kept strictly discreet as several members of staff were yet to resume before his arrival.
While inspecting each office, Soludo expressed his disappointment with the rows of empty desks as staff present informed the governor that the occupants are yet to resume to work as at 10am.
“Where are the other three?” Soludo asked a staff in one of the offices, pointing at the vacant desk ahead of him.
“They have nothing gotten to the office.” The staff replied.
The Anambra governor fumed over the development as he ordered the suspension of the absent workers, declaring that they will suspended for the rest of the year.
He directed the staff to evacuate the chairs of those absent.
“After 10 in the morning and they are not yet on seat.
“What to do is to pack those seats down. That is part of the shipping out we have to do.
“Those who haven’t come, we can shut them off for the remainder of this year.
“They will have to go. If by 10am in the morning and they have not shown up for work and you supposed to be of a civil servant. It means we don’t need them.” He said while addressing the present staff.
