Reports have surfaced accusing officers attached to the Police Anti-Cultism Unit in Enugwu-Ukwu, Anambra State, of abducting, torturing, and extorting victims.
This was contained in a post by Human Rights Activist, Harrison Gwamnishu, on X.
According to him, the Officer in Charge (OC) and personnel of the unit unlawfully detained several individuals.
They further subjected them to torture before forcing them to transfer a total sum of ₦1,119,000 into a bank account provided by the officers.
As of the time of filing this report, the Nigeria Police Force has not issued an official response to the allegations.
