The decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to delete the names of Sen. David Mark, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, and others from its portal of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) leadership had sparked mixed reactions from Nigerians.
NPO Reported that INEC had on Wednesday withdrawn its recognition of the Mark-led faction of the ADC in compliance with the Appeal Court’s order.
The commission effectively removed all the names of the Mark-led ADC National Working Committe previously uploaded on the portal.
The designation of the National Chairman, National Secretary, National Treasurer, and other key officers on the portal now reads ‘By Court Order.
INEC also stated that the official address and phone number of the party will be determined by court’s order.
The development had sparked mixed reactions from Nigerians with some hailing the development while others slammed the commission over the decision.
“INEC will set the country ablaze… 13 days to the ADC national convention, you decided to remove David Mark’s name from your portal as the leader of ADC over a case filed since 2025… That convention must hold. Something must trigger this long-awaited revolution. Let this mistake keep coming.”Felxherby
