Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, was on Thursday received by excited students and staff as he opened 36 schools-in-one projects.
Sanwo-Olu had alongside his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat, and other government officials arrived at the newly upgraded Tolu Schools Complex at the Olodi-Apapa, Ajegunle in Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state.
Video shared on X by the Senior Special Assistant to the governor on New Media, Jubril Gawat, showed students cheering Sanwo-Olu on his arrival at the school.
The governor could be seen exchanging pleasantries with the visibly excited students and staff.
According to Gawat, the commissioned project comprised of 36 schools and 19 Mini football pitches.
The schools have 12 New Classroom Blocks with each block containing 18 classrooms.
Also making up the school complex is a four-story vocational and skills acquisition center as well as a fully functional Fire Service Station and ICT Complex.

Coupled with the standard AstroTurf football pitch, the sports complex sector of the school has track for athletics, multipurpose courts, and spectator bleachers.
Provisions have also been made for field events such as javelin, long jump, and high jump while a Primary Healthcare Facility was also constructed to serve the school community.

Meanwhile, the project which was initially slated to be commissioned by President Bola Tinubu was commissioned on behalf of the President by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Speaking of behalf of Tinubu, Akpabio expressed his delight with the project which he claimed to match the standard of a university infraastructure.
“On behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, I stand here very humbled as the President of the National Assembly. The National Assembly symbolises democracy.
“On an important day like this when major democratic dividends are being unveiled for the benefit of all Nigerians and particularly for the environs of the Ajegunle community that I know for over 40 years of my sojourn in Lagos, I don’t know how the governor did it.

“I don’t know how his administration did it. But this can go for any university anywhere in the world.” He said.
Akpabio disclosed that the President is very excited with the infrastructure which is aimed at touching the lives of the less privileged.
“Today, we have about 36 schools here with ancillary facilities that will house over 22,000 students and I want to let you know that the President is very excited to touch the lives of the less privilege, to touch the lives of the students, to touch the lives of future leaders through education.
“When you open the door to school, you close the door to prison. Today, I pronounce that no child from this enviro shall ever be in prison in Jesus’ name.” The Senate President added.
Also present at the commissioning were other members of the National Assembly including Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu.
Also in attendance at the commissioning are Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, and members of the Lagos State House of Assembly.
