The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Vanguard has raised alarm over alleged presence of a leader from the Nasarawa state All Progressives Congress (APC) chapter at the pro-Nafiu Bala protest at the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) headquarters in Abuja.
The coalition wing of the opposition party made the allegation in a post shared on its X handle on Thursday.
Attached to the post were pictures with the alleged Nasarawa APC leader identified as, Ibrahim Lawal Muhammed, spotted among the protesters supporting Bala, the factional leader of the ADC.
According to the ADC Vanguard, Ibrahim, who is also known as Dubagari Jnr, currently occupies multiple positions linked to the APC structure in Nasarawa State.
The group questioned the presence of the alleged Nasarawa APC leader at the protest which it labelled a political operation allegedly coordinated by the ruling party to destablise opposition platform.
“ADC says the development raises urgent questions that cannot be ignored. If a figure publicly associated with the APC’s Renewed Hope program, the Nasarawa State Government, and other politically connected roles is now visibly championing a cause tied to Nafiu Bala, then Nigerians are entitled to ask who is truly sponsoring this campaign and to what end.

“The party insists that what is happening appears less like an internal disagreement and more like a coordinated political operation aimed at destabilising an opposition platform.” The group wrote.
The ADC Vanguard held that the APC has no reason to interfere in the internal affairs of the opposition party.
“A ruling party that already commands enormous state power should have no reason to interfere in the internal affairs of an opposition party unless it sees that opposition as a real and growing threat.
“That is why ADC says every actor, every financier, and every political link connected to this project must be brought into the open for the Nigerian people to examine.” It said.
The group however reiterated that ADC’s members will not be weakened by what it labelled infiltration and proxy activism.
It held that the party would continue to expose impostors within its structure.
“ADC maintains that no amount of pressure, infiltration, or proxy activism will weaken the resolve of its members or silence the democratic alternative it represents.
“The party says it will continue to expose every questionable connection, demand transparency from institutions, and resist any attempt to use state-backed influence to manipulate Nigeria’s multiparty democracy.
“Nigerians deserve a contest of ideas, not the weaponisation of political power against the opposition.” The ADC Vanguard added.
