The David Mark-led faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has expelled the factional leader of the party, Nafiu-Bala Gombe, and Kogi state lawmaker, Leke Abejide.
Gombe and Abejide were expelled at the ongoing National Convention of the Mark faction of the party in Abuja.
According to a post shared on X by the ADC Vanguard, the coalition mobilisation wing of the party, Binos Yaroe, Senator representing Adamawa south, moved the motion for their expulsion.
The motion was adopted by other leaders of the party and delegates present at the National Convention.
Also expelled alongside the duo are Kenneth Ehiator, Stella Chukwu, and Elias Adiukwu.
Abejide and Gombe’s expulsion is coming amid their ongoing litigation cases against the Mark-led faction.
NPO Reported that the duo had challenged the coalition’s leadership.
The unresolved cases had led to the de-recognition of Mark and other members of his faction’s Nati9nal Working Committee (NWC) as leaders of the party.
