Residents and traders at Olohunda market in Ibadan, Oyo state’s capital, have been thrown into panic as fire guts stores with goods worth millions of Niara feared destroyed.
The incident, captured in a video posted on X, occurred in the early hours of Thursday.
As seen in the video, the fire broke out in the one the stores and rapidly spread to a nearby Mouka Foam store.
Some of the traders and passersby offered to assist the storekeeper as they evacuate several beds and other inflamable goods out of the store.
Other onlookers visibly lamented over the damage and loss bound to be wreck on the shop owners by the raging inferno.
However, the cause of the fire outbreak largely remains unknown with fire fighters also yet to arrive at the scene of the incident.
