Nigerian businesswoman and social media influencer, Okoro Blessing Nkirukah, popularly known as Blessing CEO, has apologized to Nigerians over the controversies surrounding her cancer diagnosis claim.
Blessing CEO had last month come under public spotlight after announcing being diagnosed with breast cancer.
She made the announcement with series of now-deleted posts capturing moment she shaved her hair as well as clips of her soliciting for financial assistance.
While her claim had initially raised public eyebrow with some netizens insisting that she never had cancer, the emergence of her medical report which was alleged to be forged would trigger controversies over the claim.
The social media influencer was alleged to have forged the medical report of Mbara Deborah who, in the course of the controversies opened up about how she met Blessing CEO and sent her medical report to her following her diagnosis claim.
The medical report forgery saga had also attracted condemnation and calls for prosecution by medical institutions and organisations.
While she had recently deleted all her Instagram posts related to the issue, Blessing CEO would in a video posted on Wednesday tendered her apology to Nigerians over the controversies.
The social media influencer however insisted that she still diagnosed of cancer while promising to be transparent with her medical reports and take her supporters through her cancer treatment journey.
“I want to start this video by saying I’m sorry. I am very very sorry.
“To my loved ones, to my fans, and to Nigeria at large. I want to say I am sorry.
“I’m sorry for the unnecessary drama and controversies surrounding my health issues. Going forward, I promise to be very transparent with every of my medical reports down to my scan and biopsy.
“Just be patient with me, I’m going to take you all on this journey just the same way I took you guys on the journey of my liposuction and bbl. Please be patient with me.” She said.
While expressing her gratitude to those who contributed for her treatment, Blessing CEO affirmed that she never lied about her cancer diagnosis.
She however vowed to refund Nigerians and other supporters who felt disappointed with the controversies and requested a refund of their contribution.
“I never lied about my health issues. No, I didn’t. But this time, you guys are going to follow me through this process.
“And to the well-meaning Nigerians who contributed for my health, God bless you. Thank you so much. I didn’t take it for granted. You know you are loved when you need help and you cried and strangers come through for you.
“And also to the Nigerians that said Blessing we are not comfortable with the controversies, the drama, please refund us back our money, I am willing to do a refund to the well-meaning Nigerians.
“Feel free to send me a WhatsApp message and attach your receipts of payment of transfer or contribution, drop your account number. We are going to be crediting you back.” She said.
Meanwhile, towards the end of the clip, the social media influencer showed her swollen left hand which she attributed to injections.
