The senior military officers and other suspects arrested over alleged coup plot against President Bola Tinubu have arrived at the Federal High Court in Abuja for the hearing of the case filed against them by the Federal Government.
NPO Reported that the suspects, who include a retired major general, a retired naval captain, a serving police inspector and three others, were slammed with a 13 count-charge by the Federal Government.
They were accused of waging a war against Nigeria and committing acts of treason and terrorism.
The suspects arrived at the court’s premises in the early hours of Wednesday for the hearing of the suit filed against them by the Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation.
Some of the officers arrested over the coup plot are identified as Mohammed Ibrahim Gana, a retired major general; Erasmus Ochegobia Victor, a retired captain; Zekeri Umoru, Bukar Kashim Goni and Abdulkadir Sani.
Others include Timipre Sylva, former minister of state for petroleum resources (currently at large), and Ahmed Ibrahim, a police inspector.
According to report, the hearing was briefly stood down by the Judge to enable the court get an interpreter for the sixth defendant, Sheikh Abdulkadir Sanni, who understands only Hausa and Arabic, according to his Counsel.
