The 2023 Labour Party’s Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, have both arrived at the national secretariat of the Nigrrian Democractic Congress (NDC) ahead of their speculated move to the party.
Obi arrived the NDC’s headquarters in Abuja barely six hours after announcing his resignation from the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
NPO Reported that the former Anamnra governor had in a statement issued on his X handle on Sunday declared his membership withdrawal, citing the unresolved leadership crisis and the litigation cases as reasons behind his decision.
He also hinted internal rift between him and some of his affiliates within the ADC as another reason for leaving the party.
While he had not disclosed his next party, his arrival alongside Kwankwaso at the NDC’s secretariat signalled their possible switch of allegiance to the party.
Videos shared on X showed the NDC leader of the party, Sen. Seriake Dickson, receiving the duo as they stepped out of their vehicles.
