Nigerian afrobeat singer, David Adeleke, has arrived in Osun state ahead of the campaign for the re-election bid of his uncle and governor of the state, Ademola Adeleke.
Davido’s arrival in Osogobo for the inauguration of the Imole Youths Mobilisation Campaign Committee on Tuesday was met with cheer excitement from residents who trooped out to welcome.
Videos shared on X showed mammoth rally around the artist’s convoy while cheering him as he stepped out of the car.
The artist, who played a crucial role in mobilising supporters for Adeleke’s campaign in 2022, again returned to the state ahead of the governor’s re-election campaign.
As part of the preparation for the campaign, Adeleke had appointed Davido as head of the youth mobilisation for his campaign council in the build-up to the August gubernatorial election.
NPO Reported that Davido’s appointment added to his growing involvement in Osun politics.
Recall that in 2025, he was named Chairman of the Osun Sports Trust Fund, a role designed to attract investment into sports development in the state.
The “Awuke” crooner, who formally joined the Accord Party in December 2025, brings significant star influence to energise youth engagement in the campaign, especially among his massive young fan-base across Nigeria and beyond.
