The David Mark-led faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has charged its members to disregard invitations to the planned states congresses purportedly organised by the Nafiu Bala-led faction of the party.
Bolaji Abdullahi, the factional National Publicity Secretary of the party, gave the charge in a statement issued on Thursday.
Abdullahi said that the ADC, in compliance to the Supreme Court’s ruling, is not holding any state congress pending the expiration of the current executives’ tenure.
“Attention of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has been drawn to a purported plan by some individuals to convene congresses in certain states.
“”We wish to clarify that, based on the subsisting ruling of the Federal High Court, the ADC is not conducting any congresses until the tenure of the current executives expires.” The statement partly read.
Abdullahi urged the members to ignore the invitations as he labelled it machinations by agents seeking to cause confusion with the party.
“We therefore urge loyal party members to disregard any invitations to attend such congresses, as they are merely machinations by agents of destabilisation seeking to cause confusion within the party.” He added.
